Yoooooo. What up, blogosphere. It’s 2018 AND I’M BACK, BABY!
2017 was all about growth for me. Throughout the course of the year, I really got things together physically and emotionally.
And I did a lot of new things! I traveled to a lot of new places. I started on a new career path, and I moved across the country. I underwent a full body transplant (but that’s another story for another time). Oh, and I got a puppy!
In chronological order, here’s some of my favorite memories of 2017.
In January, I visited Palos Verdes with Shelby. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. We laughed about all those fools suffering through the winter back in Ohio. Now I am one of those fools. Go figure!
My dad came to visit me in LA!
While conducting a post-brunch photo shoot outside of Sunny Spot (you know, as you do), a jogger ran straight into Shelby and I caught it all on camera.
I watched a very colorful sunset on Venice Beach with a celebrity corgi.
Made a disguise for a dead palm tree…
Finally pulled off a face swap with a dog!
In February, my mommy came to visit me! We went on all kinds of adventures. Here we are on the Forrest Gump bench on the Paramount Studio Tour.
Also in February, I celebrated my birthday on a Malibu wine hike with friends.
In March, we went to Joshua Tree for Carolyn’s birthday! Here we are pictured with the very ugliest Joshua Tree in the entire national park.
We also had a photo shoot for Margarita’s Project Runway audition. And guess what? She made it! If you didn’t watch, she made it all the way to NYFW and I couldn’t be more proud of her.
Shelby and I went to Lake Elsinore to check out the super bloom of wild flowers.
I went Shanghai! Have you ever seen a more amazing skyline?! If I look tired in this picture it’s because it was 1 in the morning to me.
I went to Beijing and hiked the Great Wall of China which was just, like, basically the most amazing experience of all time.
I went to Hong Kong and I am now absolutely determined to go back.
I went to Austin and celebrated a wedding with all of my insane cousins (and a block of cheese).
I went to an Indians game and finally met Slider.
I went on a few Sunday dates at LACMA (with my friends, no boys. Sorry, grandma).
I enjoyed some summer hikes in Mill Creek Park.
I played catch with this handsome boy.
I went to a psychedelic picture show and discovered my favorite album of 2017.
I went swimming in a ball pit with a pink flamingo pool toy.
I acted like an idiot in public (what else is new?).
Went to a birthday party and ignored everyone to have a photo shoot.
I visited Jason and Derek in Atlanta and went to Midtown Music Festival. We saw Bruno Mars and Haim perform. It was truly life-altering.
I went on a cross country road trip with my dad.
I gave birth to a precious puppy named Winnie.
More walks in the park with handsome Gibby…
I celebrated Halloween with the Justice League in Columbus.
I enjoyed fall for the first time in 3 years!
I held a Thanksgiving-themed photo shoot with my dogs.
I visited Shelby’s hometown and discovered that she has a life size picture of herself in her childhood bedroom.
And finally, I spent Christmas with my family in Ohio.
I cannot BELIEVE all the stuff I did in 2017. What a rad time. What a great year. Wow.
What’s next for me:
2018 is going to be all about building my business as a freelance writer and saving for travel. I plan on doing a work and travel program as soon as I can swing it. I’m looking at Nomad House, but I’m open to suggestions.
Also, I need to get back into taking photos and updating this hallowed blog. Don’t ya think?
What are your plans for 2018? Let me know in the comments!
