BELATED JANUARY RECAP

March 16, 2018 • 1 Comment

I have been so focused on my freelance copywriting business lately, I haven’t been updating this blog at all. Forgive me.

I was going to write a post on my recent trip to Phoenix to go to Indians spring training, but then I thought maybe I should do a recap of all of February. Then I saw all these lovely pics for January, and decided that they deserved their own post as well.

Remember the good old days where blogging was low key and people would just post pictures and write about their lives? Let’s bring that back. I am so focused developing detailed content calendars and writing posts for my clients, that I no longer feel like doing that for my own blog! I’ve made my creative hobby into my job and now I have no creative outlet. First world problems, right? I guess I need a new hobby. Shall I get back into making music?

On one particularly snowy day in January, I took a walk through Mill Creek Park. It was absolutely beautiful, but I was the only person out there! As I walked along Lake Newport, a lady in a car pulled over and rolled down the window. “Great day for taking pictures!” she said. “I know! I just moved here from California so I never get to see snow like this,” I said. It turns out she lives in Santa Monica and was just visiting Youngstown for the weekend. Small world, right?

Cold weather means lots of puppy snuggling time.

Winnie saw snow for the first time and she LOVED IT.

Although you can’t really tell from this picture, Gibby loves the snow too. I think the cold weather makes his old bones hurt, however. He’s 11 now!

I’ve been spending many weekends in Columbus with my friends. Here I am with Pippa and Lulu, Alicia and Dane‘s chihuahuas. They look thrilled and I look bloated. What a great picture.

I tried to reproduce this self-portrait by Astrid Kirchherr (of Beatles fame). Needless to say, I did not nail it.

My favorite bakery in Columbus: Fox in the Snow Café.

I AM STILL LAUGHING ABOUT THIS NIGHT. Grandview Theater in Columbus had a special 20th anniversary showing of Spice World, so my friends and I got dressed up as the Spice Girls. Then we went out in the Short North. As we walked down the street, I kept hearing people whisper to one another, “Is that the Spice Girls?” I truly felt like a celebrity. Strangers wanted to take pictures with me. I should, like, wear that dress all the time.

By the way, those are blonde clip-in extensions. Ingenuity!

So, January was cold but it was also good.

What did you do in January? DO YOU EVEN REMEMBER? Let me know in the comments, yo.
