Winter may be coming, but it’s spring on the runways. I’ve been scouring the internet to find pictures of all the makeup looks from the New York runways, and these are the very best. Because it’s spring, obviously we have a lot of colorful eyeshadow, which you know I am all about. And while scrawling “PERFECTLY IMPERFECT” across your eyelids may not be, um, really very wearable outside of a fashion show, some of these you could definitely rock at the club or even, gasp!, in the daytime in public! If you look closely, you’ll see a subtle line of silver glitter over Gigi’s eyes. Paired with flowing waves, this look from Anna Sui is very retro future hippie. Now, would I wear this to the grocery store? Probably not. But for you people going to Coachella, take note! I’m loving this pink eyeshadow look from Brock Collection! Paired with a chignon, it’s about as romantic as Jane Eyre.
Side note: I just finished reading Jane Eyre and I watched the movie with Michael Fassbender. BABE ALERT! Where is my Mr. Rochester? The red ombre lips from Helmut Lang are dramatic, but totally wearable. Everyone is talking about Stella Lucia’s lavender hair at Alexander Wang. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’ll never be able to bleach my hair and dye it a wild color, but I’ll be damned if I won’t try to find a wig in this color. Green eyeshadow + turquoise eyeliner = disco for days. I’m loving this look from Tadashi Shoji. Also: what is that lip gloss? I must have it. Jeremy Scott’s models wore rhinestones under their eyes and colorful talons with glitter on their fingers. Is it an everyday look? No. Can you keep this in your back pocket for a music festival? Absolutely. Make sure to invest in a good moisturizer to prevent dry skin this winter. I wear liquid eyeliner almost every day, so I am loving this update on the classic winged eyeliner from Jill Stuart. It’s basically just a regular wing on top, with a line of black eyeshadow blended underneath the eyes. So cute! OMG this shimmery turquoise eyeshadow! I LOVE IT. Philipp Plein had his models in various colorful shades of eyeshadow, but this one is my very favorite. RIHANNA! You guys know about her Fenty Beauty line, right? Naturally all the models at Fenty x Puma were wearing it, but I just LOVE this gold highlighter. If you love it too you can just pop over to Sephora and buy it (and get one for me too!). I will never give up the dream that I could look good in yellow eyeshadow like the models at Novis. Unfortunately, on my complexion it reads more “malaria” than “fashion”, but I will keep trying and report back. Extending fall’s red trend to the nails, Adam Selman had his models in almond-shaped red talons. If I had any budget at all for getting my nails done, I would be going after this look.
What’s your favorite beauty look from NYFW? Would you wear any of these? Let me know in the comments!
