Zakia’s Moroccan Ghassoul Clay Powder is a face and body mask made from Moroccan Lava Clay. To use, you just put a little bit in a bowl, add a little water, and mix. According to the packaging, the “clay infuses your skin with needed minerals while firming and improving elasticity.”

What I like about this product is that you can alter the potency of your mask by simply adding more clay and less water. You could make a thinner mixture to put all over your body, or a thicker formula for your face. I tried it on my face and chest and my skin really did feel smoother.

However, if you are using this product (or any clay powder for that matter), be very careful to add only a little bit of water at a time! You can always add more water, but you don’t want to waste product. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way!

And although this product is a really nice quality, having to mix it myself is a downside for me. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with the product, I’m just lazy. I don’t have a dishwasher, so every dish I dirty I have to hand wash! That’s just me though.

This sample was gifted to me by Zakia’s Morocco via Brandbacker, but all opinions are my own.

  2. Hahahaha! This wouldn't be great for me either. I'm lazy too and no doubt find a way to stuff it all up.

  3. What an interesting product! I've never seen something where you could mix your own mask.

  4. This product looks so cool! I guess it could be annoying having to wash the dishes afterwards, but at the same time it's pretty cool that you do it yourself and you can add as much as you want 🙂 It means you probably get a lot more then than if it was pre-made 🙂 xx

  5. Oh I hadn't heard of this. I haven't used a mask in ages actually!

  6. This looks great! I'm going to need to try this!

  7. I love the idea of being able to alter the potency of the mask, that would be great for adjusting it to accommodate all types of complexions! 🙂

  10. Cool, review.
Although, it may be annoy to do all the mixing and washing yourself, at least it gives you enough freedom to make it in the perfect consistency for you.

  17. Sooo A Mask for both your face and body? All I can think of is just covering it all over and becoming a clay statue! Hahaha! I've never tried a product that you have to mix and create the consistency. Is it messy?

  18. I like the idea of this but I think I am too sloppy to use it and would end up with mask all over my sink. Love your blog!

  19. That is a very interesting product! Is it for all skin types?

    • Yes! Typically clay masks are more geared towards oily skin, but I found this to be very moisturizing. I think it would work for anyone!
