CINDERELLA BLUE

Really digging these muted pastel blue vibes. Maybe I’ve just got Cinderella on the mind with the new movie and MAC collection, but these garments are definitely the same color as her legendary dress, right? Baby blue is such an unexpected color for winter, but why not? Who said we have to spend the whole winter dressed as if we’re in mourning for summer?

WINDOWPANE CHECK

This look is so chic. The trend emerged on the runways last year, which is great because that means you can scoop this up at your favorite high street stores! Black and white is forever amazing, but windowpane print is so fresh and will immediately bring your wardrobe into 2015.

FUN FUR

There were so many amazing fur techniques and colors on the NY runways, it was really hard to choose favorites. I think those pastel Altuzarra coats are some of the most iconic of the season. The craftsmanship on that Michael Kors coat is STUNNING and although I never pictured myself in yellow fur, I MUST have that J Crew jacket. I mean, come on! Look at that thing!

SOFT & COZY

I’m loving these super cozy knits. I just want to rub them on my cheek and purr. Is that weird? Whatever.

SHIMMER

There were SO many looks on the runway with just this magical amount of shimmer and sparkle. And Naomi Campbell in that Zac Posen gown. DAY-UM! I love this trend because it feels like such a fresh take on sequins and glitter (two things I love but have outgrown as a woman). You can get that hit of glitz without being juvenile and it’s amazing.

WINTER FLORAL

So this isn’t new news, but don’t you love these moody winter florals? I literally have so many black-grounded floral items and I can NEVER get enough. So glad this trend is going strong!

SPORTY GOTH LITE

We’ve been seeing so much amazing, athletic-inspired clothing, but it’s basically all been in black and white until now. Designers at NYFW mixed things up a bit with our same sporty chic silhouettes, but this time in a gorgeous new palette including burgundy, forest green, navy, and grey. Please give it all to me.
And don’t even mention Tommy Hilfiger’s collection to me because if there’s one thing I love almost as much as fashion, it’s football. And to see the two of them together on the runway, my god! It was magical.

MONOCHROME RED

What is more fiery and sexy than head 2 toe red? Like damn girl you’s a firecracker! Zac Posen’s collection was like one unbelievable all-red look after another, but lots of designers carried the trend. And like literally everyone looks good in red so basically we have no excuse not to recreate this trend.
What were you digging at New York Fashion Week? What are you most excited for in the coming weeks?

  5. Awesome run down of all the trends!! So on point. The bright faux fur trend makes me giggle – my mom made me a faux pink fur coat for Halloween one year when I was a Barbie. I wish I still had it!!!
