This is actually a post about my last two weekends, but who’s counting, right? Ugh, the weather here in Ohio is just really bringing me down. I’m counting down the days until I can get out of here and back to LA – where the sun is always shining and you don’t ever have to worry about dropping your purse into slush in the Wendy’s parking lot!
Last weekend I went to go see Dave Buker & The Historians and Print the Legend at Double Happiness in the Brewery District. Double Happiness is kind of a cool venue with an Asian theme to it. It’s very long and narrow and they’re always playing interesting movies on repeat. This time they were playing The Jerk and Scott Pilgrim. I’ve seen Dave Buker & The Historians a few times before, and they were good as usual. They describe their genre as “electro folk” so if you’re into that kind of thing, definitely check them out! Print the Legend also really blew me away, especially when I heard they’ve only had 3 shows. I think we might be hearing more from them.
My friend Carolyn put blue and green into her ombre and it looks fantastic! I wish I had a better shot of it because she looks like a straight-up mermaid right now.
“The kind of bathroom where you would expect people to be snorting coke off of every surface.”
Suzanne wrote her name in the frost on her car and I thought it looked so pretty.
This may look like a plate of mush, but it was a DELICOUS plate of mush. This is the biscuits and gravy at The Pearl. All the food we got for brunch was amazing and I had one of the best Bloody Marys of my life.
I took a 4 hour nap after I ate that.
I went to Siem Reap with Paula, one of my oldest and dearest friends. She went to Cambodia a year or two ago so we thought we would check out some Cambodian food in the area. According to Paula, it was pretty legit. This is the roast duck which was SO GOOD. I could probably subsist on only duck for the rest of my life.
You probably don’t know this unless you’re a big sports fan, but the NHL All Star game was held in Columbus this weekend! We went down to the Arena District on Saturday to check out the festivities. Above is “AHS: Columbus Blue Jackets.”
This is probably the sexiest photo of Kirsten I’ve ever seen.
They had a few big tents with drinks and snacks set up. This one featured an 80’s cover band called The Reaganomics and the scent was apparently sponsored by Abercrombie & Fitch, because it smelled hella Fierce in there.
Later we went to check out the grand opening of the Wolf’s Ridge Taproom. I was really impressed! Plus drinks were half off so I was even more impressed!
Sampling the goods.
The Nationwide building had a message for all the NHL fans which I thought was kind of cool.
On Sunday I just did boring things like cleaning, laundry, and eating by myself at Wendy’s. What else is new?
How was your weekend?
