Saturday in LA was spent on wedding festivities! It was the only day where the weather was “bad” – chilly and rainy – but nothing that someone from Ohio is really going to complain about. The wedding was held at Studio 1342 which is a really great space if you’re planning an event in LA.
The above picture was taken on the “party bus” that escorted us from Venice to the wedding. For those who were asking who the girl with the dark hair is, that’s my sister! Believe it or not (most people don’t).
My sister and cousin.
The grooms are probably the most handsome couple you could ever hope to meet.
Me ruining a nice picture of them.
Me with members of the bridal party. Do you love that dress? She said she’s worn it in three different weddings in three different colors or something.
Wow, now that I’m looking at my ratty ass hair I’m SO glad I cut it off!
How gorgeous are those bouquets (and the bridesmaid obvs)?! The floral arrangements featured succulents with pops of blue to fit the color scheme of the wedding. I thought everything was really cool and it was a great way to have greenery without being overly feminine.
This is the only picture of the ceremony I took because I was literally SOBBING. It was so beautiful. They were out in the rain and everyone was crying. My aunt officiated, and the parents on both sides stood and gave a little speech. It was completely magical.
They also had a “selfie booth” at the wedding, with tons of fun props and selfie sticks. The hashtag for the wedding and the grooms’ Instagram handles were written on the mirror. I thought it was such a fun touch and all the photos turned out great! Plus then people were taking the props out on the dance floor. One guest insisted on dancing with a green crayon all night.
The dance floor was SO FUN. They had a great DJ who played a great balance of the usual white people wedding music mixed in with Latin music for the Costa Rican side of the family. Later in the night she played “Hang On Sloopy” for all the Ohio people and we LOST OUR GODDAMN MINDS. The California people were a little put off, I think.
Me and my mommy! My mom and I split camera duty at the wedding. Oh, and they had 2 professional photographers. This might be the most well-documented wedding of all time.
Posing with our new cousin!
Mother-son dance. (Not “mother-daughter” as I previously wrote! Hahaha!)
I seriously love my family.
If you were wondering, their suits are by J Crew! I think they looked so sharp.
And now is the part of the photo set where we were pretty sloshed and having the best time on the dance floor. These kinds of photos are pretty much my specialty as an amateur wedding photographer. Why? Because I was sloshed too.
My God it was SO MUCH FUN. This was the first cousin wedding on this side of the family. The bar is set so high, I’m not sure where we can go next but we’ve got like 10 more to go in the coming years!
