Remember that part at the end of The Little Mermaid when Ariel abandons her family to become a human and be with the man she loves? She comes out of the sea in this BEAUTIFUL sequin purple dress and it is EVERYTHING. It’s only in the movie for about 5 seconds but it is forever in my memory. I would abandon my family just for that dress probably. I’ve really wanted a dress like this for a long time. Like, when I was looking for prom dresses in 2007 I really wanted something like this, but online shopping was such a crapshoot in those days. I had to go to the MALL and buy all my formal dresses. Obviously they didn’t have my dream dress at the Southern Park Mall. The only dreams they have there are the broken kind. You kids today don’t know how lucky you are.
Me at prom though tbh

Anyhow, I found a few dresses from Aviva Dress that could totally work for my dream dress:

Those are totally gorgeous, right? The one on the left is probably the most literal translation. This is the closest shade to that glorious princess lilac, but I think it’s really pretty and would look fantastic with a pale complexion. The other two are similar in silhouette and color to the original. Not head to toe sequins, but honestly, have you ever worn a dress like that? They are HEAVY. So with these you can get your sparkle on but still hit the dance floor.
Now I just need someone to invite me to some kind of event that involves evening dresses or formal dresses. And if you aren’t into wearing purple for whatever reason, the cool thing about Aviva Dress is that they can customize your color for you. Crazy about yellow? Get yourself a yellow ballgown, girl! They also have tons of inexpensive wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses. Not that I will ever marry, but I figure some of you readers might! The world is your oyster, basically.

  2. LMAO this is hilarious because this was also my dream dress.
I made my mother make me several different iterations of it when I was a young child hoping to make it perfect and to this day I still have those sitting in a box cause I just can't bring myself to throw them away!

  3. Oooh, I'm digging the dark purple one on the left. Isn't it funny how some things we see as a child stay with us forever? For me it was that sultry fish from that under-water scene in Fantasia. Her fins looked like a glistening dress and I was alllll about it.

  4. Love the dresses! And the Ariel inspired prom dress is a great idea.

  5. The middle dress is actually like the real life version of Arial's dress! I had quite a simple dress for prom, I'm such an anti-dress person!
