Vampire Weekend front-man Ezra Koenig is like kind of my ideal human. I’m not going to go into all the reasons right now, but rest assured that a) he is amazing b) my admiration is perfectly justified. I knew that he wrote short stories while in college at Columbia, but I’ve never been able to read one UNTIL NOW.
This story, called “Off the Grid,” was published in Columbia’s literary magazine Quarto.

Well, I’m not going to pretend to understand that. Then again, I went to a Big Ten school so what do I know? It is kind of cool though because you can see how his writing style translated to songwriting, particularly on Vampire Weekend’s first album.
Don’t believe me? Listen to this song:

See what I mean? So that’s neat and exciting.
Should I post my college short stories here also?
